| The 1966 Batman Television Show on CBS |
| The 1966 George Barris Batmobile The Batmobile for the 1966 Batman television show was designed by car customizer George Barris. Given only three weeks to design the car, Barris used a rusted-out old Lincoln Futura concept car that had been sitting outside the back of his shop! (see pic below) He delivered the vehicle on time to a very excited studio, but not before securing a patent on his work. (see pic below) The studio was kind enough to sell the car back to Barris for the price of $1 after the shooting was done on the show. Ever since then, Barris has been taking the Batmobile around to various car shows and conventions for the fans to enjoy. We have a gallery below of various pictures from the George Barris Batmobile. Enjoy Bat-Fan! (click each image to enlarge) |
