| The Challenge of the Superfriends ran from Saturday, September 9, 1978 to Saturday, September 15, 1979. It consisted of 16 episodes. The Challenge of the Superfriends was the first time we didn't see any comic relief, like the Wondertwins or Wonder Dog. z` This series marked the first appearance of the Legion Of Doom, which consisted of 13 villains in all. Lex Luthor, Captain Cold, Solomon Grundy, Toyman, Scarecrow, Cheetah, Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Bizarro, Giganta, Sinestro, Riddler, and Brainiac. The 1979, Hanna Barbera produced Legends of the Superheroes live action series was loosely based on this incarnation of Superfriends. For more info on that show, click here >>> |
