'Cyborg' Spin-Off Movie Too Costly? Justice League's Ray Fisher Weighs In!

'Cyborg' Solo Film Too Expensive says Justice League's Ray Fisher

Justice League was the mother ship that Warner Brothers was banking on for their burgeoning DC Extended Universe film series. The idea of a Cyborg solo film had been thrown out there previously, but recent comments from Ray Fisher, the man that portrayed Cyborg in Justice League, seem to indicate that the film may be cost prohibitive.

Fisher was in attendance at the Heroes & Villains FanFest this past weekend in New Jersey, and he had this to say:

"I don't know. I can't comment on that specifically, because they don't tell me anything until the very last minute. There's a ton of people making those kind of decisions behind the scenes. And it would be a very, very costly movie to make because it is so CGI heavy with Cyborg, because I'm the only member of the League that's not in a practical costume. You're going to be looking at $200 million just to make it. So it's one of those things you have to take into consideration. It's a numbers game for some people at the end of the day."

Fans will likely get more Cyborg, even if the solo film doesn't happen. The character is slated to show up again in the DCEU.

The DC Extended Universe will have the following films releasing soon:

  • Aquaman (2018) release date: Dec 21, 2018
  • Shazam! (2019) release date: Apr 05, 2019
  • Joker (2019) release date: Oct 04, 2019
  • Wonder Woman 2 (2019) release date: Nov 01, 2019
