Sons of Anarchy: Season 7 Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: Complete your collection and relive the heart-pounding adrenaline rush of the final season of Kurt Sutter's explosive outlaw-biker saga, "Sons of Anarchy." Reeling from the death of the woman he loves, Jax Teller steers SAMCRO full-throttle down the hell-bound road to revenge, allowing nothing to stand in his way. The streets of Charming run red with blood as shifting alliances and fatal mistakes lead to chaos, betrayal, and all-out murder. The body count soars, and dark secrets give way to darker truths, until the only question remaining is who will live... and who will die.

Review: Sons of Anarchy is without a doubt one of the best shows on television.  The series has gone through a flux that started with a rough and violent biker gang, full of deception and betrayl with an underlying current of brotherhood to a fractured shell of what it once was.  I'm a huge fan of this series, but I must say that the final ride came at the right time.

This final season finds Jax hunting for Tara's killer, all the while his mother is weaving webs and hiding Juice.  We get a nice peppering of violence this season, which is refreshing, along with neo-nazis, Courtney Love and more.  This is an epic show and you can't miss watching and owning the final wrap-up.  Its not the best season of the series, but its still a must have.

The blu-ray extras include: Deleted Scenes, Gag Reel, Featurettes: "Carpe Diem: The Final Season of 'Sons of Anarchy'", "Anarchy Legacy", "Bikes of 'Sons of Anarchy': Motorcycles of Mayhem", "Season 7 Guest Stars".

Interest Range: Action, Drama, TV series

#KeatonWasRobbed .....Pass it on Bat-Fans

Best Wishes to Michael Keaton & Birdman Tonight at the Oscars

We'd like to wish Michael Keaton the best of luck with his film BIrdman tonight at the Oscars.  The film stars Mr.Keaton who, of course, portrayed Batman in 1989 and 1992. The film Birdman is a tongue and cheek reference to the original name that Bob Kane gave Batman..which was of course Birdman.

Batman: The Silver Age Newspaper Comics Volume 2 (1968-1969) Review

Click the above title to read more...

About the Book: In this second volume, produced in partnership with DC Entertainment, Batman's rare 1960s newspaper adventures continue. Will Batman and Robin survive the double dealings of Madame Zodiac, not to mention the redoubtable Blue Max? If so, can the Caped Crusader then survive being trapped on an island with an atomic time bomb beneath him? Can his friend Superman save him when the Man of Steel might not be able to save himself? Can Aquaman come to rescue them both? The answers to these questsions - and many more - are in this breathtaking Bat-Volume, reprinting all daily and Sunday strips from January 1, 1968 through May 31, 1969!

Our Take: There are very few parts of Batman's print legacy that aren't readily available to the public. The various runs of newspaper comic strips are finally collected in hardcover form for the hardcore fan. This great book from IDW gives us a second volume of the 1960s Silver Age comic strips in their original glory. These are strips that you literally couldn't have seen until now, unless you had saved the original newspapers that they were printed in.

The strips are reprinted in their original format, with the Sunday editions in color and the dailies in black and white. The book features all kinds of adventures that you've never seen before, including all the characters we love like Batman, Robin, Alfred, Catwoman, Batgirl and more. The occasional other Justice League hero will make an appearance as well, like Aquaman and Superman. This book is a phenominal addition to the library of any Batman fan.

Clarence: Mystery Pinata DVD Review

Clarence: Mystery Pinata DVD Review

Synopsis: Clarence finds something amazing in just about everything. Discover the best that life has to offer--epic pinecone wars, backyard tree forts and the secret worlds beyond milk cartons--all through the eyes of Clarence and his friends, the unpredictable Sumo and overly-cautious Jeff.

Review: There is a huge trend on Cartoon Network towards these over the top, often absurd, animated series like Adventure Time, Uncle Grandpa and of course, Clarence.  These shows have a wide range of appeal for everyone from a 5 year old to a 12 year old and sometimes beyond.  The cool thing about these shows is that, while they can often be off-putting, they are genearally non-violent, silly and fun.  Clarence also embeds good messages within the series, including acceptance and friendship.

This DVD set includes the followig 12 episodes from the series:

1. Fun Dungeon Face Off
2. Pretty Great Day with a Girl
3. Lost in the Supermarket
4. Clarence's Millions
5. Jeff's New Toy
6. Zoo
7. Rise 'n' Shine
8. Average Jeff
9. Slumber Party
10. Dream Boat
11. Too Gross for Comfort
12. Neighborhood Grill

Batman: The Television Series: Season 2 Part One DVD Review

Synopsis: These first 30 episodes of Batman's second season will take you on more perilous plots with fiendish foes trying to undo our undaunted heroes! From the torturous King Tut (Victor Buono) to a straying Catwoman to the provoking Joker (Cesar Romero), Batman and his Boy Wonder sidekick come face to face with a cape-full of criminal calamity.

Review: Fans of the classic Batman television show have waited impatiently for decades to get our beloved series on DVD and Blu-Ray.  Finally, we have the full series release, but if you can't afford that WB is doing you the service of releasing the seasons in volumes.  This latest release, season two, part one, features the first 30 episodes of the second season of the show.  Its hard to resist all the campy greatness, laughs and good times that this chapter of Batman's history brings. I've enjoyed sharing this series with my own kids, and reliving all the joy it brought me as a child.
